Healthy Food & Nutrition
Healthy food comes from a healthy food system. A food system is the path that food travels to get from "farm to fork" and includes every step in between, from growing food to eating food to recycling food.
A food system that is efficient and benefits everyone equally not only helps the environment and the economy, but it also means that more San Diegans will have the opportunity to eat healthy food.
Creating a healthy food system helps us Build Better Health in San Diego by increasing access to healthy and affordable food, by supporting the local economy and food supply chain, and by protecting our natural resources through the support of small-scale farmers and sustainable farming practices.
