Community Engagement
The County of San Diego plays a critical role in providing a variety of health and community services to promote the well-being of residents. The new Southeastern Live Well Center provides a one stop shop for residents to get services in a convenient and modern location. It also serves as a hub for community meetings, educational opportunities, and workforce training. We worked closely with the community to develop the project, and we welcome your continued feedback.

Tubman Chavez Stories: A Community Cultural Display
A Community Input Tour for the Tubman Chavez Stories: A Community Cultural Display was held from January 14 through February 4 to help select between two concepts to honor the Tubman Chavez Community Center. During tour stops, community members were invited to share their thoughts on a new art display that would spotlight the rich history of the Tubman Chavez Community Center.
“Tubman Chavez Stories: A Community Cultural Display,” honors the legacy and tells the stories of the community center which opened in 1995 and served the Southeastern San Diego community as a unifying gathering place. The exhibit is housed inside the main lobby corridor of the County of San Diego’s new Southeastern Live Well Center.
